1. Privacy Policy Overview
SoftQuill Labs ("we", "us", or "our") develops and maintains Ekadashi Companion as a calm, offline-first devotional utility designed to help devotees worldwide observe sacred fasting days with astronomical precision.
Our core architectural commitment is that your spiritual practice and personal data remain private on your device. Ekadashi Companion operates entirely on-device without requiring you to create an account, register your identity, or transmit your geographical coordinates to our servers.
2. Location Data & Astronomical Calculations
Accurate Vedic fasting dates and Parana windows depend strictly on local solar and lunar positions at your specific geographic coordinates.
- On-Device Ephemeris Computing: When you grant location access or manually pick your city, your coordinates (latitude, longitude, and timezone) are processed solely by local astronomical algorithms on your device to determine local sunrise, sunset, and Moon-Sun angular separation.
- No Remote Transmission: Your location coordinates are never sent to SoftQuill Labs servers, never shared with third parties, and never logged for tracking or analytics.
- Manual Location Option: You are never required to grant GPS permissions. You can freely choose your city or enter custom coordinates manually within the application.
3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device
Information stored by Ekadashi Companion is kept strictly within your device's sandboxed application storage:
- User Preferences: Selected calendar tradition (Vaishnava or Smarta), chosen location coordinates or city name, and Parana reminder preferences.
- Fasting Log & Devotional Notes: Any optional notes or observance records you choose to keep locally.
- Notification Settings: Local alarm and notification schedules configured via the Android system alarm manager to alert you before fasts or during Parana windows.
4. Zero Third-Party Trackers & Analytics
Ekadashi Companion does not integrate any third-party behavioral analytics SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, or adjust), advertising networks, or social trackers. The app does not display banner ads, popups, or interstitial advertisements.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
Because all application data is stored exclusively in your device's local sandboxed memory, clearing the app storage or uninstalling Ekadashi Companion permanently removes all stored preferences and logs from your device immediately.
